  • For 18 faithful days the dancers venerates the virgin of the Candelarias in the church of San Juan. The worship, possibly Pasha or Mother is associated with the vital pre-Hispanic rite with the Breast Earth. The catholic origins of this sample of Andean faith, go back to the 16th century. The party begins nine days before (ninth), when the butlers arrange the temple and organize three masses with banquets and pyrotechnic games. The central day, February 2, the Virgin of the Candelarias leaves the temple to cross the streets in an unimaginable frame of folklore demonstrations.

  • Cajamarca's Carnival is, probably, the most representative of the country for having acquired very own characteristics and a specific organization.
